Role: Senior AI/ML Engineer

Location: Candidate must be based in San Francisco Bay Area / Chicago / Boston/Maine

Duration: 12 months +

As an AI/ML engineer, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of the cloud-native AI/ML framework and infrastructure (supporting both GenAI and traditional AI/ML technology and applications), AI model productionalization (E2E AI/ML model production lifecycle: AI/ML model development, deployment, monitoring, refresh, etc), Data Lakehouse, and related technology, systems, and tools. This technologist will drive the technology development and architecture in these areas to ensure the platforms, systems, tools, models, and services generated from this team are technically sound with strong security, quality, reliability, usability, scalability, performance, efficiency, and operability to serve the fast growing needs of our client and their customers. It's important to balance the near term and long-term needs.

• Contribute to the development of technology and platform for the company's AI/ML needs, ensure the functional richness, reliability, performance, and flexibility of this platform
• Help with the design, architecture and implementation of the AI/ML infrastructure, platform and services.
• Help design and implement the choice for our client's AI Orchestration framework.
• Help design and implement the choice for our client's Vector database along with integrating embedding algorithms in the Data Lakehouse.

Required Skill:

• 5+ years of ML engineering, software design, development experience at a large scale.
• Strong software development skills in his or her chosen programming language, but ready and willing to learn and program in Java and Python.
• Demonstrable understanding of and hands-on experience in supervised and unsupervised ML and AI
• Demonstrable understanding of and hands-on experience in building Retrieval Augmented Generation applications, from AI orchestration frameworks and embeddings to vector databases.
• Demonstrable experience in Kubernetes and Terraform
• Experience with Sagemaker a plus
• Broad understanding of cloud architecture tools and services, such as S3, EMR, Kubernetes, Lambda functions. Experience in AWS and Azure is highly desirable.
• Rich experience and deep expertise in the areas of Big Data and large scale data platforms, especially in AI and ML.
