Phlebotomist II - Lab Facility | Houston, TX (Medical Center)

Pay: $18-$22/hr (Based on experience)

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire

Position Overview:

As a Phlebotomist II, you'll be responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, ensuring patient comfort and safety, and preparing samples for lab testing. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while providing excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

* Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections, including pediatric and geriatric patients
* Verify patient identification and ensure accurate labeling of all specimens
* Explain procedures and create a calm, professional experience for patients
* Maintain and prepare phlebotomy equipment and supplies
* Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and specimen-handling protocols
* Accurately document and maintain patient records
* Support the lab team with additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

* High school diploma or equivalent (required)
* 2+ years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections (required)
* Phlebotomy certification (preferred)
* Experience in medical assistant or paramedic training (preferred)
* Strong customer service background
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Data entry and computer literacy skills
