Job Description



The Manager, Global Business Insights will leverage expertise in data analysis, reporting, and visualization to fuel our global performance in customer visits, sales, and market share. This role frequently interfaces with senior leaders and supports our many global markets. The ideal candidate will balance strategic analytical thinking, technical skills, and the ability to connect human insights with data to communicate results and inspire action.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Industry and Competitor Insights: Monitor market trends and competitive dynamics using internal, public, and third-party data
  • Strategic Support: Serve as industry and competitive advisor to McDonald’s leadership and functional teams, providing ongoing analytical support
  • Data Analysis: Detect and communicate impactful insights across multiple data domains (sales, transactions, product mix, market share, customer satisfaction, and more)
  • Reporting: Support the automation and continuous enhancement of functional and executive-level reporting on business health and performance
  • Vendor Partnership: Work collaboratively with third party insights providers to better utilize, improve, and enable systemwide use of consumer and competitive data
  • Enterprise BI Leadership: Promote “One McDonald’s Way” of KPI measurement and definitions in coordination with subject matter experts; support efforts to improve our data assets and enhance their usage; help create efficiencies across markets by sharing best practices and cross-market learnings

The expected salary range for this role is $112,860-$143,900  per year

Qualifications



Experience

  • Business Acumen: Good understanding of financial drivers of company performance and must be able to quantify business impact from analyses
  • Large Datasets: Hands-on experience independently analyzing large datasets and relational databases
  • Competitive Analysis: Experience monitoring global industries and competitive landscapes, and sharing compelling performance narratives
  • Technical Proficiency: SQL, Excel, PowerPoint, data prep tools (e.g., Alteryx) and data visualization (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI)
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of consumer-facing businesses such as Restaurant, Retail, or Hospitality industries, with emphasis on businesses with a digital component preferred

  • Data Storytelling: Skilled in data visualization and using data to tell a story
