Golf Course Superintendent
Golf Course in Marana, Arizona is looking for a Golf Course Superintendent.
Position Overview:
Play a critical role in maintaining the quality and excellence of our golf course, overseeing daily maintenance, and ensuring an exceptional playing experience for our members and guests.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage all aspects of maintenance for the North Course, ensuring top-quality playing conditions year-round.
• Supervise and lead a team of grounds maintenance staff, providing training, guidance, and support.
• Develop and implement agronomic plans to enhance course conditions and manage pest, weed, and disease control.
• Prepare and manage budgets for the North Course, including labor, materials, and equipment.
• Maintain and repair equipment and irrigation systems to ensure efficiency and functionality.
• Coordinate and collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations of the golf course.
• Implement best practices for environmental stewardship, water conservation, and sustainable maintenance programs.
• Monitor course conditions daily and take proactive steps to address issues related to turf quality, course design, and weather conditions.
• Communicate with members, guests, and management to address feedback and requests promptly.
• Maintain constant communication with the Director of Agronomy to align on course management strategies, share updates on turf health, and ensure the implementation of agronomic practices that meet club standards.
Requirements:
Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent, with direct management of course maintenance.
Proven ability to lead and manage a team in a high-performance environment.
Strong understanding of agronomy, turf management, pest control, and irrigation systems.
Familiarity with budgeting, cost control, and equipment management.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work long hours in varying weather conditions, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in Turf Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field (preferred, but not required).
Valid pesticide applicator’s license (or ability to obtain one).
Compensation:
$70,000 – $85,000 per year.
