We are seeking a dynamic and talented Assistant Director of Nursing. Provides oversight and management in absence of the Director of Nursing with the goal of maintaining quality and safety, enhancing efficiencies, managing resources, and optimizing patient and staff satisfaction. The ADON is involved in the recruitment of new employees, the nursing orientation program and on-boarding processes, and the continuing nursing education processes. Assists with the development and implementation of quality initiatives and ongoing performance monitoring with goal of guiding nursing practice and enhancing the quality of nursing services provided.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Assists with delegating, coordinating, and providing supervision to nursing personnel. 
• Prescribes, coordinates and is accountable for nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit.
• Ensures therapeutic techniques support the utilization of the nursing process that promotes safe, effective and cost efficient care.
• Assists the DON with interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work.
• Assists the DON with appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Assists the DON on scheduling of nursing staff.

Assistant Director of Nursng Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from a CCNE accredited nursing program  and current unencumbered license or permit to practice professional nursing in the state of TN.
• Master's of Science in Nursing strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of progressive management experience in a behavioral health setting.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of direct or indirect supervision of nursing staff.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Time Management, strategic planning, delegation and continuous improvement skills are a must.
